Pedro, originally from Colombia, came to MIT as a Visiting Scholar at the Media Lab to work in Artificial Intelligence and Language Endangerment. He then joined D-Lab Education as a listener and was captivated by their approach to technology and its potential for poverty eradication. Linguist by profession, he worked and lived for several years in Africa and Latin America contributing to the Education Technology field. He currently co-teaches D-Lab Education and D-Lab Waste, advances D-Lab's partnerships in Peru and supports D-Lab's Youth program. Proud father and husband, he spends any spare moment playing games, reading and mentoring apprentices in Rwanda.
